Monaco is proving to be quite the leader in hosting world-class events and is fast making a name for herself that transcends its reputation for James Bond-esque settings and one of the hottest vacation spots in the world. Within the last decade, Monaco has set her sights on producing and sponsoring one-of-a-kind international events like the Monaco Charity Film Festival, the Monaco Grand Prix, and the Top Marques Monaco car show. The year 2007 offers the second Monaco Charity Film Festival, a venue that brings worldwide attention to new, emerging filmmakers as well as raising money to help impoverished and abandoned children around the world. Directors, actors, writers and the creative talents of those who transform ideas into film from around the world are converging on Monaco for the second annual film festival that has already taken the entertainment industry by storm.

And all the while our imitation of its popular culture never faltered. Nor are we really alone in this. Absent a few mullahs and the chattering classes, doesn't the whole world want to be American?
America is attractive precisely because it has grown. Hordes of immigrants from different parts of the world gave it diversity and a tradition of tolerance long before the new Europe discovered those words and turned them into weapons of self-destruction. Recent immigration from Central America has served a more vital function: it has helped to keep the birth rate at a relatively healthy two per woman, in contrast with the below-replacement rates almost everywhere in Europe - as well as Canada and Australia.
